Senators Find a Way to Win
|
The Boston Red Sox went down to defeat to Al Bonner and his Washington teammates. The final score was 1-0 in favor of the Senators. Washington pitcher Ben Tincup got the win. He's now 7-7. Guy Morton was tagged with the loss. With the win, Washington pushed its record to 83-68.
In the bottom of the 12th, Howie Shanks had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring single to right off Boston pitcher Guy Morton.
Bonner pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
