Braves Win, Now 17-7
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Boston Braves take on the New York Giants.
Boston Braves starter Jack Killilay turned in a sterling performance against the New York Giants, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Killilay, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs.
In the bottom of the fifth inning of a 2-2 tie, Boston catcher Lee Magee reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Boston on top, 3-2.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said New York manager Dennis Pickering, "let me know."
So far, the 1915 season has been disappointing for New York, now 8-15.
