Late Rally by White Sox Secures 2-1 Win
|
The Chicago White Sox got a strong performance from pitcher Dick Crutcher, who stymied the Washington offense en route to a win, 2-1, at Comiskey Park. The win puts Chicago at 13-16.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, George Sisler had a chance to end it. Washington pitcher Ben Tincup had other ideas. But with one out, Sisler hit a sacrifice fly. The White Sox had the win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Chicago manager George Stallings.
