Indians Get 8th Straight Win with Late Rally
The Cleveland Indians topped the New York Yankees, 5-4, in AL action at Somers Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Doc Crandall. The Indians, now 22-7, have been sizzling early on.

Tom A Long went 1 for 3 for Cleveland. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Red Ames. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

Crandall pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
