Sweeney Stars in 14-6 Win for Washington
No one was more impactful than Bill Sweeney in the 14-6 Washington win over St. Louis. Sweeney, who led the AL in stolen bases with 75 in 1912, went 4 for 5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The 6th-place Senators improved to 14-17.

Steve O'Neill had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the third for Washington. With the bases loaded and the Senators leading 11-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Sweeney. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
