Spirited fans greeted the St. Louis Browns for their clash with the New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees racked up a win at Sportsman's Park IV, bumping off the St. Louis Browns, 5-3. Earl Hamilton, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Hamilton got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. Hamilton allowed 3 runs.
Hamilton had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put New York in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
