Victory Over Athletics Takes Cleveland to 25-15
|
The Cleveland Indians weathered a fine game by Philadelphia right fielder Jack Graney to upend the Athletics, 6-5, at Somers Park. Graney was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Stan Dougan, the winning pitcher, is now 6-2. He went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 6. The victory gives the Indians a record of 25-15.
Cleveland catcher Jesse Altenburg contributed to the cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Altenburg was 1 for 4 with a triple.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Altenburg said after the game.
