Cubs Win in Glorious Fashion, 10-9
The Philadelphia Phillies got a superb performance from second baseman Bruno Betzel. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Cubs won the game, 10-9. Betzel was 2-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago pitcher Ben DeMott got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Ed Reulbach got the loss. The 4th-place Cubs have a record of 25-27.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Chicago second baseman Billy Page, facing Ed Reulbach, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Cubs the 10-9 win.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Page said.
