Senators Top St. Louis, 3-2
|
The Washington Senators got a rain-soaked win over the St. Louis Browns.
The Washington Senators eked out a 3-2 win versus the St. Louis Browns at National Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Al Bonner. He was terrific. The winner in relief was Ben Tincup. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 4-2.
In the bottom of the eighth, catcher Steve O'Neill hit a run-scoring single to center. The single, which was hit off of Tom W Walker, gave Washington a 3-2 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Washington manager Zachery Marchese said.
The slumping Browns have lost 6 straight.
