Indians Win, Now 35-20
|
Milt Stock led Cleveland to a win over Philadelphia. The final score was 7-1. Stock scored 3 times, going 3 for 5. He also knocked in 1 RBI. Cleveland reliever Bill Steele got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Carl Weilman was tagged with the loss. The second-place Indians have won 4 straight games.
In the bottom of the eighth, Red W Smith stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Athletics were trailing 4-1, but had runners on 1st and 3rd. That's when Harry Kane made a terrific pitch and Smith grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Philadelphia comeback.
