|
Philadelphia Phillies starter Lefty Tyler was on his game, helping his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-2. The winning pitcher was Tyler, now 4-7. He tossed 9 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 3. Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.
In the top of the third, left fielder Casey Stengel hit a solo home run to right. The home run, which was hit off of Bill Hopper, gave Philadelphia a 3-2 lead.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Stengel said after the game.
