The Boston Braves got a stellar performance from pitcher Charles Parkins, who handcuffed the Brooklyn offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Ebbets Field. Parkins, now 10-6, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The win elevated the Braves to 44-30.
Boston center fielder Ty Cobb made his contribution to the Braves cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning. For the day, Cobb was 1 for 4 with a double and a walk.
Cobb called the win "a collective effort."
