Athletics Tack 8-7 Loss on Chicago
|
Ray Schalk did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago White Sox from losing, 8-7, to the Philadelphia Athletics at Comiskey Park. Schalk was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs. Even with the win, the Athletics have a dismal 25-59 record.
The Athletics got an important contribution from second baseman Ray Morgan, who in the top of the first knocked a 1-2 sinker into right-center for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Athletics ahead, 5-0.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Philadelphia skipper Dave Jackson.
