Reds Lose, 4-1, at Ebbets Field
|
The Brooklyn Robins defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 4-1, in NL action at Ebbets Field. Brooklyn pitcher Herb Byram had a standout performance. The Robins raised their record to 39-45.
In the bottom of the fifth, third baseman Cotton Tierney hit a run-scoring single to center. The single, which was hit off of Matt Clark, gave Brooklyn a 2-1 lead.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Tierney told the Brooklyn Daily. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
