Henderson Lifts Cardinals to Win
|
St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Ben Henderson was in fine form, leading his team past the New York Giants, 9-1. The win puts St. Louis at 50-38 this season.
Henderson's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 2 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 1 hit. Henderson, who finished 5th in the NL in ERA with 2.37 last year, goes to 8-8 on the year with 62 strikeouts.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager John Hartgraves.
