Senators Take Tight Tilt, 2-1
|
Washington Senators starter Kid Speer worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the Cleveland Indians, 2-1. The win for the Senators raised their record to 49-45.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 13th inning, when Washington second baseman Max Carey, facing Dick Rudolph, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Senators the 2-1 win.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Speer told the Washington Gazette.
