Victory Pushes Indians Record to 60-39
|
The Cleveland Indians powered past the Philadelphia Athletics, 10-6, at Shibe Park. Heinie Groh went 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Hub Perdue, credited with the win, is now 10-7. He allowed no runs on no hits. With the win, Cleveland raised its record to 60-39.
Joe Birmingham had a productive trip to the plate with one out in the top of the sixth inning. With a runner on 3rd, he reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run, helping Cleveland to the win.
"I still think this team can play even better," Birmingham told the Cleveland Observer.
