Athletics Suffer 6-5 Loss to Boston
|
George Moriarty was a vital contributor to the 6-5 Boston victory over Philadelphia. The Red Sox third baseman went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was Guy Morton. His record is now 2-1. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 6 hits for the Red Sox. The Athletics fall to 3-7 and continue their rocky start to the 1915 season.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from catcher Mike Konnick, who in the bottom of the seventh hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Red Sox on top, 6-3.
"If it's down the middle," said Moriarty, "you might as well hit it."
