Phillies Earn 4-2 Win Against Cubs
|
The Philadelphia Phillies topped the Chicago Cubs, 4-2, in NL action at West Side Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher Ad Brennan. The win gives Philadelphia a season record of 49-49.
Brennan, a native of La Harpe, Illinois, was dealing all game. He kept Chicago hitters off-balance, while giving the Phillies 10.1 quality innings. Brennan threw 140 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 4.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Brennan told the Philadelphia Citizen.
