Senators Held in Check by Red Sox, Lose, 2-1
|
The Boston Red Sox picked up a win at Fenway Park , taking down the Washington Senators, 2-1. Starting pitcher Phil Douglas was a big reason why. The 5th-place Red Sox improved to 54-57.
Making an impact for the home team was Bill McCabe. In the bottom of the seventh, the slick-fielding center fielder had a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-1, Red Sox.
"We found a way to get it done," McCabe said.
