St. Louis starter Elmer Criger had a strong outing against the Philadelphia Athletics at Sportsman's Park IV. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. Criger got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Criger allowed 3 runs. Tommy C Thompson recorded the save, making him 10 for 13.
Harry Lunte aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Criger told the St. Louis Today.
The win puts St. Louis at 49-74.
