Browns Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Washington
|
Al Bonner of the Washington Senators spun his magic on the St. Louis Browns today. He blanked them 6-0 on 4 hits, registering 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Bonner said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Washington skipper Zachery Marchese said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Al pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
Bonner has started 30 times this year, pitched 205 innings, fanned 78 batters and walked 119. His current record is 15 wins and 9 losses with a 3.51 ERA.
