Senators Rally For Late Win Over Browns
|
Sportsman's Park IV was the site of a competitive game between the St. Louis Browns and Washington Senators.
The Washington Senators did just enough to sneak past the St. Louis Browns, 4-3, at Sportsman's Park IV. Washington pitcher Bill Hogg, in particular, had a standout performance. Washington now has a record of 64-57 with the win.
The knockout blow came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when second baseman Bill Sweeney stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a bases-clearing triple, to win the ballgame.
After the game, Washington manager Zachery Marchese applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
