The Washington Senators overcame a good performance by New York first baseman Mike Donlin to knock off New York, 10-9, at National Park. Donlin went 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 times. The win gives Washington a season record of 68-58.

In the bottom of the seventh, catcher Steve O'Neill hit a 2-run single to center. The single, which was hit off of Doc Ayers, gave Washington a 10-8 lead.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," O'Neill told the Washington Gazette.
