Senators Top Tigers, 3-1, Behind Rucker
|
Nap Rucker was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Washington and Detroit. The Senators left-hander helped his team beat the Tigers, 3-1. Washington now has a record of 80-64 with the win.
Rucker, a native of The United States, was dealing all game. He kept Detroit hitters off-balance, while giving the Senators 9 quality innings. Rucker threw 126 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 5.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Rucker. "Successful pitchers do it."
