Brennan Gets 3-0 Shutout
|
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Ad Brennan of the Philadelphia Phillies proved the point at Baker Bowl today, holding the Brooklyn Robins to 2 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Brennan made us look real bad today," Robins manager Ned Hanlon said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Brennan had 6 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Phillies took the 3-0 win.
This season Brennan has a 24-12 record with a 1.79 ERA in 38 starts.
