|
Indians fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.
The Cleveland Indians turned back the New York Yankees, 7-6, at Somers Park. Shoeless Joe Jackson, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. The Indians raised their record to 20-7.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the fourth, Jesse Altenburg delivered the knockout blow when he grounded out, driving in 1 run to win it for Cleveland. In the contest, Altenburg drove in one run.
"This team is real focused right now," said Cleveland manager George Davis.
