Donlin gets 4 RBI, Leads Yankees to Win
|
New York first baseman Mike Donlin played a vital role in his team's 8-1 triumph over Washington. He went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for New York. Ed Summers, the winner, improved to 5-5. He held the Senators to 1 run on 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 1. With the win, the Yankees have a record of 21-20.
In the top of the first, Donlin had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run double off Ben Tincup that staked the Yankees to a 2-0 lead.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Donlin.
