Robins Earn 5-4 Win Versus Phillies
|
The Brooklyn Robins did just enough to sneak past the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-4, at Baker Bowl. Brooklyn pitcher Herb Byram, in particular, had a standout performance. Byram picked up the win for Brooklyn, going 8 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 13-6. The 'W' lifts Brooklyn's record to 33-35.
In the top of the ninth, first baseman John P Henry hit a run-scoring single to right. The single, which was hit off of Ad Brennan, gave Brooklyn a 5-4 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Henry said.
