5-3 Win Gets New York to 42-27
|
The New York Yankees racked up a win at Brush Stadium (AL), bumping off the Washington Senators, 5-3. Ed Summers, who started for New York, pitched effectively for his team. Summers got the win, improving to 11-6. He allowed 9 hits and walked 3 over 9 innings. Summers allowed 3 runs. With the win, New York raised its record to 42-27.
In the bottom of the fourth, shortstop John Perrine hit a 2-run triple to right-center. The triple, which was hit off of Bill Hogg, gave New York a 4-3 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Summers said after the game.
