Yankees Win, 5-2, Versus Senators
|
The New York Yankees got a strong performance from pitcher Ralph Glaze, who stymied the Washington offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Brush Stadium (AL). New York has won 4 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the third, first baseman Mike Donlin hit a run-scoring triple to right-center. The triple, which was hit off of Nap Rucker, gave New York a 3-1 lead.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Glaze. "Successful pitchers do it."
