Brennan Goes Distance in 2-1 Win
|
The Philadelphia Phillies did just enough to secure a victory over the New York Giants, 2-1, at Baker Bowl. Nobody did more than pitcher Ad Brennan. With the win, Philadelphia goes to 36-38, while the Giants fall to 32-41.
Brennan, the Philadelphia left-hander, went 9 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. He collected 4 strikeouts.
"Tough loss," said New York manager Dennis Pickering. "But we'll learn from it."
