Senators fans were treated to an exciting walk-off win.

The Washington Senators topped the Chicago White Sox, 5-4, in AL action at National Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Washington first baseman Fred Merkle. Washington reliever Lou Schettler picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Red Hoff absorbed the loss.

Merkle won the game for Washington with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th. In the contest, Merkle was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Winning in the last at-bat, there's nothing else like it," said Merkle.

Washington raised its record to 52-48 with the win.
