Senators Lose, 7-1
|
The Detroit Tigers topped the Washington Senators, 7-1, with left fielder Ted Kaylor playing a big role. Kaylor went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Tigers in the win. Bill Steen converted his 4th save in 5 tries. With the victory, the Tigers upped their record to 65-42.
Kaylor contributed when he hit a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth. Coming with two outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, the home run proved to be critical to helping Detroit get the win.
"We want to make a habit of winning," Kaylor said after the game.
