Boston Blanks Phillies, Schimpf at His Best
|
An efficient outing for Art Schimpf usually means a win for the Boston Braves and today was no exception. The 29-year-old right-hander held the Philadelphia Phillies to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 4 and gave up 6 hits in the 5-0 shutout.
"Art really got it done out there today," said Boston manager Frank Selee.
So far this year Schimpf has compiled a 18-7 record with a 1.90 ERA.
